Leading property conglomerate, FEC (Far East Consortium), who specialises in property development, hospitality and car parking ventures in Asia, Australia, New Zealand has strengthened their UK operation with the appointment of key staff in its London team to deliver new developments in London.
FEC has expanded rapidly since starting its UK venture in 2011. In the last 12 months the London team have grown from 7 to 17 staff members and in addition they also opened their first regional office in Manchester. The growth is attributed to a range of new projects to create vibrant places for people to live, work and Play. These projects include Hornsey Town Hall in North London, Alpha Square in Canary Wharf, and MeadowSide in Manchester.

The growing London team is led by Head of UK Development John Connolly, with Angela Walsh heading up Sales and Marketing. The existing projects team has been strengthened by the new appointments of Nick Poon as Head of Projects in London and Doris Lam as Senior Project Manager. They have joined the existing team of Phil Yeung Project Manager, Renzo Cheung Interior Architect/ Design Manager and Wendy Ling Quantity Surveyor. The finance team was recently strengthened by Amar Sharma as Senior Finance Manager for the group and Kiah Khing Tan as Senior Commercial Manager.
With over 20 years of experience in the construction industry Nick Poon – Head of Projects London, has managed residential, commercial and hotel projects from concept to completion. Prior to FEC, Nick worked for a blue-chip multinational conglomerate. Nick has both technical excellence and a hands on approach, which has seen him leading teams on delivering some of the world’s tallest buildings and is currently taking the lead to deliver the group’s portfolio of projects.
Doris Lam has over 17 years experience in the London residential market. During this time she has been responsible for some of the most significant new developments and taken complex schemes from briefing, planning, delivery to completion on a vast range of residential, commercial, retail and hotel projects. Prior to joining FEC, Doris was a project manager at CK Hutchison and partner at MAKE Architects. With extensive international property experience, notably in Asia (including Hong Kong and Beijing), Doris is currently managing the Hornsey Town Hall development in North London.
Amar Sharma is heading up the finance team and has 20 years’ experience in accountancy having worked for construction firms, including Global Holdings and CLS Holdings Plc. Amar will be responsible for the financing aspects for the groups projects and overseeing the accounts functions and its team.
The most recent addition to the team Kiah Khing Tan is FEC’s Senior Commercial Manager. Kiah Khing is responsible for overseeing the commercial aspect of London projects and comes with over 20 years of European and UK experience in residential, commercial, justice, sports & leisure projects having worked companies in such as Hutchison Property Group and Capita.
In October 2017 FEC’s first regional office in Manchester was opened to support the launch of MeadowSide part of the Northern Gateway regeneration, an investment partnership between FEC and Manchester City Council in order to deliver in excess of 15,000 new homes across the north side of central Manchester to be completed in the next decade.
During MIPIM in March FEC showcased its current and future projects and unveiled the Masterplan for the Northern Gateway, where award winning architects Farrells have been appointed as master planners.
