The Role

Reporting into the Project Director, the Senior Development Manager will play a Integral part of the development team. Delivering solutions from inception to completion, across built form, infrastructure and public realm.

We fully expect that this role will be a key part in delivering our Collyhurst project and will be specifically focused on lower density family housing, therefore experience in the planning, design and delivery of family housing and estate regeneration is preferable as well as experience within an RP or house builder.

Responsibilities

The duties of the Senior Development Manager include, but are not limited to:

  • Support and lead aspects of the delivery of residential and mixed-use projects to project completion including all aspects of development planning, design and delivery
  • Ensure co-ordination, interface and integration of project within wider regeneration programme
  • Assimilation and coordination of design teams, coordination of planning, design including planning applications
  • Coordination and reporting of project budget, financial performance, cost and risk working in conjunction with FECs Commercial and Delivery teams
  • Meet budget objectives and make necessary adjustments based on financial analysis
  • Coordinate internal resources and contractors to ensure the smooth execution of all elements of their project, based on skill level, time capacity and individual strengths
  • Support in the preparation of grant funding applications and subsequent ongoing management and reporting of funding claims
  • Lead and attend development meetings internally and externally with key stakeholders and consultants
  • Manage and develop complex stakeholder relationships across a variety of important partners including local community, local businesses, internal and external contractors, City Council and Homes England
  • Preparation of consultancy / contract briefs, tender analysis and award
  • Instructing design teams and dealing with contactors, legal teams, agents and key stakeholders
  • Utilise your past experiences in working autonomously and in delivering projects from inception to completion
  • Working proactively an in collaboration with our joint venture partners promoting and protecting FECs position, whilst ensuring projects are successfully delivered and achieving joint ventures objectives
  • Be an ambassador for the FEC brand.

Personal Specifications

The successful candidate will hold the following skills and experience:

  • Proven background in real estate and property development ideally with a registered provider or house builder
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience working at a professional level with a property developer, RP or housebuilder in planning and delivering regeneration or residential schemes
  • Experience managing a broad range of stakeholders including reporting to stakeholders via Board Reports and progress updates
  • Experience working with contactors throughout the development process to handover.
  • Relevant qualification in building, engineering, project management, urban design, business, architecture, land or other relevant discipline and/or equivalent industry experience
  • Ability to work independently, be self-motivated and lead in a quite dynamic environment. The candidate will be expected to be proactive and define solutions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Person centred skills must include commercial acumen, resilience, excellent communication and presentation skills
